Aberdeen Parks and Recreation baseball and softball needs you.
As of Thursday night, there were less than 100 players signed up for the program, which has space for players from tee-ball through ages 13-15.
The official sign-up period is over. However, Dan Augustyniak, a parent volunteer, is holding an extra sign-up Saturday. Augustyniak will be at the Royal Farms on Middleton Road from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with registration forms.
Have an event coming up? Post it on our events calendar and share it with the rest of the community. It's easy and it's free.
Registration costs $40.
"Beyond that, I am willing to meet any evening at the Parks and Rec building with notice," Augustyniak wrote in an email to Patch.
Augustyniak said eight years ago, when his son began playing, the program had more than 500 participants. Last year, about 200 participated.
"I am trying every outlet to spark interest and participation," Augustyniak said.
